Inquirer’s Class with the Rector
The Inquirer’s Class is for anyone who might want to explore the Christian story and the story of the Episcopal Church. If you have not been baptized or confirmed and are considering whether to do so, if you have done so and are still curious, or if you want to revisit your commitment in the company of others, this is a wonderful opportunity.
We will discuss the Bible, what is in it; how to read it; how it functions in the community of faith; Jesus: what he taught and what he did; the impact of his life in his own day and on the early Christian community; what is taught about Jesus today; the development of the early church and how it eventually became the many traditions we know today, especially the development of the Anglican and Episcopal churches; the sacraments, with particular attention to Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist; prayer and worship and the Book of Common Prayer, and anything you want to know about what we do here and why!
We will have the opportunity to share our own life and faith stories. Your questions and interests definitely shape the course of our inquiry together.
